BibliU Information

The University of Arkansas Community College at Batesville (UACCB) has partnered with BibliU, a digital eTextbook provider, to provide our students personal access to their essential digital texts and resources. The BibliU platform allows users to read online and download (through the BibliU apps) on multiple devices. Students can make notes, highlight text, search for keywords, mark their favorite most used books, and use accessibility features such as Text to Speech.

BibliU is built into your courses and can be easily navigated from Blackboard. For a series of how-to videos you can visit the YouTube playlist created by BibliU.

To reduce the costs of textbooks, UACCB utilizes BibliU for most courses. However, some courses may require additional materials such as lab manuals or consumable workbooks, which can be found at the UACCB Bookstore. Additionally, certain courses use open educational resources (OER) that are not included in the BibliU library. You can find details about these resources in your course syllabus and on Blackboard.

Depending on the course, you will either pay $66 or $0 for the type of digital book provided:

• Courses that use digital versions of adopted textbooks or courseware from traditional publishers have a book that costs $66.
• Courses that use digital versions of open educational resources (OER) have a cost of $0.

Students may opt out of BibliU agreeing to secure their textbooks from another vendor by following these simple steps:

1. Access the "Getting Started" Module:
   • Log in to any of your courses in Blackboard and navigate to the "Getting Started" module.
2. Locate "BibliU Course Materials":
   • Scroll down within the module until you find "BibliU Course Materials" and click the link to open the BibliU interface.
3. Review the Top Bar Information:
   • In the BibliU interface, locate the purple-lavender bar at the top of the page. This bar provides:
     • The opt-out deadline.
     • The number of courses affected by opting out.
4. Click the "Opt Out" Button:
   • On the right-hand side of the purple-lavender bar, click the "Opt Out" button.
5. Review the Opt-Out Details:
   • A detailed list of books for all your courses will appear. Review the list, which includes:
     • The books you will need to acquire independently if you opt out.
     • The deadline for opting out.
6. Complete the Opt-Out Process:
   • Confirm your decision by clicking the "Opt Out" button again.

After completing these steps, your opt-out process will be finalized. Please ensure you adhere to the deadlines displayed in the BibliU interface.

Important Notes:

• The opt-out process must be completed for each semester (Fall, Spring, Summer). Opting out applies only to the current semester and does not carry over to future semesters.
• If you do not complete the opt-out process by the deadline, you will automatically participate in BibliU for that semester.
